Hayo Zookeepers!
We've put together some fun and interesting habitat ideas for your zoos, that will keep both your animals and guests happy! The varied species in your park will also need plenty of Enrichment and suitable habitats so check out the Planet Zoo guides to get all the information your need for building and caring for your animals!
Take a look at this habitat inspiration and dive into building fantastic, fulfilling spaces for these beloved species in your zoos with these suggested habitat and construction pieces.
The Alpine Ibex is a large mountain goat native to the Alps of Europe, so they'll be right at home in a mountainous habitat complete with logs, climbing rocks and a smattering of snow. They'll love bounding around the Goat Climbing Mountain and exploring a snowy expanse, complete with their own log cabin (a Wooden Shelter) and Scots Pine Scratching Tree forest.
Although, they don't like sharing their space with any other species so make sure their habitat is large enough to keep them happy and separated from the rest of your animals!
Add the Alpine Ibex to your zoo with the Europe Pack.
The Asian Small-Clawed Otter is native to the rivers and streams of Central and Southeast Asia, so a tropical riverside habitat filled with ruins to explore is the ideal home for the world's smallest (and cutest!) otter.
Complete their environment with Tropical Sculptures to create moss covered structures around areas of deep water, perfect for your otters to swim and play; Your guests will love coming to watch this Critically Endangered species thrive! Decorate the terrain of their habitat with Rustic decorations like barrels & buckets and Planet Zoo logs for a habitat that looks like it's been reclaimed by nature.
Asian Small-Clawed Otters are very social animals so they will happily share their space with other species, including:
Add the Asian Small-Clawed Otter to your zoo with the Wetlands Animal Pack.
The Greater Flamingo is a large migratory bird widespread across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, so your habitat inspiration can come from almost anywhere! Their environments should always contain water and plenty of nature, so try to create a plant rich lagoon for your Greater Flamingos. This space should have room for the Great Flamingos to wade and feed in the water, with a variety of plants from across the world! Fill their space with foraging pools and Waterfall Frames for enrichment and complete the look with Aquatic Jetties and Bedding Platforms surrounded by Cattail Reeds and Mangrove trees.
Although these birds are a relatively low maintenance species for your zoo, they prefer their own space as a flock so we don't recommend you house them in a habitat with any other animals.
The Greater Flamingo is a base game species for Planet Zoo, available for all players!
